Check it out...

I wasn't aware there was any tie between a UFO found in the late 40's and Randy Rhoads. Apparently, Jackson has that
particular autopsy footage:

Notice what I'll call "crop circle" inlay's...? "Close Encounter" inlays...?

Hey, and they're only $4200.00!

I'm a HUGE fan of the pointy and beveled Rhoads Jackson V2's (the traditional Gibson V's bore me), even though I've never owned one and find them a bit on the
unpractical side - I'd still love to own a nice example.

The above... not so much, although I can kinda see the appeal of the retro-styling.  :dontknow:

Discuss.

What's to discuss? It sucks so hard, my monitor's screen bowed in just displaying the thing.

Must be a NAMM display model or a Photoshop rendering of some sort, right? Like a trial balloon? Kinda like the Detroit Auto Show, where the manufacturers sport a bunch of designs that'll never get made due to their impractical ridiculousness?

Kinda neato as a design exercise, although I have little use for V's of any kind - vintage, Rhoads, or what have you.

I wouldn't wanna be the guy aiming the aircraft bit to drill that output jack bore.  And at 4.2 grand, you'd think they'd have smoothed out the bore a little better on the gold one.

Gun drill it before you cut the ass out of the thing, and it's not so tricky.

LMAO! Bastard! I'm cleaning Diet Mt. Dew off my keyboard due to that remark!

Both of those are on Ebay right now my friend.  :confused4:

Hehe! Sorry about that. Should drink beer instead of sugar water. Less sticky <grin>

those are actually a reissue.  Initially came out in mid 90s from what I recall.  Used to be only available in silver.  Not that I would buy one mind you...

Before seeing the pics, and just going from the description in the original post, i thought of Megadeth.  Hangar 18 isn't too big a stretch from Alien autopsy, and that fell during Megadeth's Jackson years when Dave was playing a Rhoads V or some custom shop variation.

Nope, they've actually been around many many years, and the first ones that were in production were actually aluminum...

Actually it looks like a prop from a low budget Sci-Fi TV Show or something
