Definitely diggin' on that Padouk.
The fingerboard isn't too shabby either (huge understatement).
That will be fun!

:rock-on:

Wow, that's a stunner!  You're not putting epoxy on that beauty, are you?  :help:

Just what I was thinking, but with that black bass body he's gonna use it on, I think the fingerboard might looks really good with a thick coat of epoxy on it, but ONLY the fingerboard.

Very very very very cool!  :headbang1:

liar! you told me you hated padouk with all your heart and soul and would never want to touch a padouk guitar part ever in your life!
you also said red tonewood were the root of all evil ;)

seriously, fantaaastic neck!

I put the tuners and string retainer on. I don't have my body yet, so I put the neck on the Squier body that my previous BE Maple/Goncalo neck was on, until i get the new body.
I haven't had a chance to do any extensive playing yet, but so far all of my fears have been assuaged and i am very happy with this neck!

I was afraid that it wouldn't sound "right" or that it would be too mellow or bright or something, but it sounds awesome so far, and its WAY more responsive than my other neck.
I was also afraid that I would have a hard time with the unlined fretless, but it's really not any different than my lined neck. Frets are for pussies, and so are fretlines.
The neckdive **sitting down** is not an issue at all... Even on the lightweight Agathis body. I will try it out standing with a strap when i get a chance.

The neck does feel a bit thick though, and i think the reason for that is because my BEM/Goncalo neck was shaved down considerably when it was epoxied.
It's not a big deal though, because it still feels great.

I have decided to play this neck the way it is until my warranty expires, then i will have the fingerboard sanded every-so-often, and *maybe* one day years down the road, i might epoxy coat it.

You guys are forgetting that i can easily do a satin finish epoxy if i wanted it. It doesn't have to be high gloss.

hahaha only Kidding!
I could totally picture it in my head:

Luke: I want a padouk neck
Marko: But you always say Padouk is evil
Luke: I want that one!
Marko: here's your Padouk neck:
Luke: I want Wenge

ok, it was funnier in my head

Although I have the precision-width nut, otherwise that's the same combination of neck woods and unfrettedness that's on Spermy the Imprecision Bass:

I was just playing it for a few hours this morning, it sounds just like a Tyrannosaurus Rex stomping around (I think that's the pau ferro, for a brontosaurus tone use rosewood....)
