Congratulations.  I look forward to the day when I too can say "It's Done"...

Looks nice. Also looks like you finished the neck as well... do you like the TruOil better than the unfinished feel?

I really like the neck!
was that a showcase piece or custom ordered?
also, how does the fretboard feel??

au naturale.............good looking guitar with all the right ingredients.

Wow, Bill Lawrence L200s.  Forgot about them until now.  Are they hum-cancelling or just blade-type single coils ?

Looks nice! How does it sound, though?

Used it for the first time at rehearsal tonight. Sounded really good. Fingers got tangled up a few times. That'll happen until I get used to the neck.

Only the front and back headstock and heel are finished. The playing part of the neck is raw, smoothed with 2000 grit and a wet sand.

The 220s are super old. I bought them in the seafoam green Strat body. Found them on ebay. I'm going to sell the body. I wanted the pickups for this project.
They are silent and real articulate with just a little more power than a standard vintage.
I bought the guitar and neck off of the showcase.

The neck and body fit perfectly. It was a tight fit. I tried the trick of loosening the screws with string tension to let the neck settle tight against the body and it didn't even move. The sustain is real nice. I'll crank it this weekend and hope to hear the resonance of the chambered body. I'm pretty pumped about it.

Okay, that's what I saw then. Reflections off the headstock and the heel area. The heel area is what really made me think the whole thing was finished.

I put a thin coat of oil on it, but then I decided to sand it off.

I went ahead and did the headstock and heel leaving the neck raw to give it that "played in" look.

It was a showcase piece.

The 220s are noiseless.

They are some of the first offerings from the original Bill Lawrence, I believe the late 70s.

It sounds great.
