is it wrong???

so im going to make an awesome sg with a mahogany body and flame maple top with red dye and bring the black in so its a black to red sunburst. its going to look positively wicked but theres a problem. i really want a maple neck with a maple fretboard with black trapezoid inlays because it would look cool but idk how it would conflict with the finish. i really like the feel of maple necks w/ maple fretboards because of how they play and just that glossy look but is this too far? ???

Not too far at all.  It works, its been done.  On maple, your fingers feel the finish, the inlays are under the finish... it feels the same.

Hardly if you consider how much work and attention to detail it takes to make a Custom, made to order Neck, especially when you consider the quality of Warmoth products.....certainly as good and likely better than you'll find any where else for the price.  

keep in mind if price is a consideration there are alot of cosmetic features a guy can knock off the build and still have a really great, highly functional instrument.

You can get them for $25.99 and do a little work with a Sharpie..
