Intermittent Popping/Crackling

Verily verily, I say to ye:

Dirty pots are susceptible to vibration induced rice crispies - as are cold solder joints and other connectivity issues.  A little funk interferes with the connection between the wiper and resistive element within the pot. Combos are really rough on a chassis.

I cleaned the pots a few night ago and it seems to have resolved the issue for now.  I played for an hour on the amp today with zero crackles!  Maybe that's all it needed 😎

If spraying canned miracle worker seems to have resolved the problem, then you didn't fix it; you still have a problem and you're living on borrowed time. The pots have reached the end of their useful life and need to be replaced before they fail right in the middle of the best/most important performance you've ever done. The parts are inexpensive and easy to replace so there's no excuse for letting this slide.
