Hey all,

I'm dead set on painting my next project guitar neon green. The only problem is I've only found 1 source for neon green nitro and they refuse to ship to the US (they're a Canadian company).

That said, I was wondering if someone from Canada would help me out by letting me ship to their house and then forwarding on to me. I'd obviously pay for everything and I would be happy to compensate someone somehow. If anyone is willing shoot me a PM and we can talk.

Thank you in advance!

Neon and nitro arent a great mix. Neon needs to have clear clears and nitro definitely isnt clear clear.

Would doing the neon and, say, 2k for clear work better? I've heard some horror stories about 2k so I was trying to shy away from it. My main reason for nitro is I've used it and it's pretty easy.

2k is horrific in the sense of - don’t friggin inhale it.

It applies easy and cures hard and fast.

Consider using a vinyl wrap instead of paint? Certainly easier, and obtainable.

Well the system you use matters a lot. a 2K clear is also going to need a compatible base but thankfully you can find 2K systems even in spray cans pretty easily in the US. Just pick one and go from there. its all a learning curve but your local auto paint supplier and/or body shop would be a good place to start learning about what can work for you and your setup.

I live in a small town in the Sierra Nevadas, there is no local body shop or auto paint supplier, unfortunately. However, I have found this I thought it might be worth trying.

The most important thing is to buy the system in my experience. You will want to get your primer, color, and clear from the same brand and type. I would email that supplier and tell them what you are doing and ask what you will need for each stage.

I use Cross Border Pickups to get Warmoth and other parts from USA into Canada. I am sure there are companies that do the reverse. Maybe even Cross Border Pickups. I use a NY address.
