Edit: - took link down while song is being completed. Will update again soon.
OK, I never post up concepts or half-baked songs, but figured I'd go out on a limb. This one is a rough mix and only partially done. I'll be writing the bridge, solo, and outro this week (and adding bass gtr). The little octave run that hands the verse off to the second chorus is going to change.
I'm at a strange place in life right now - I'm thinking of making a huge change in life that could take me away from my band (of 13 years) and deeper into solo territory. On top of all this, my GF and I are at a crossroads. It's a stressful time in life, but I think it's all for the best. I'm really grateful to have music in my life. Without it, I don't think I'd have even made it through high school. It's really pulled me through the darkest times in life. This song is going to be about that.
Another note is that I have been experimenting with gain textures and interleaving my tracks instead of stacking them, per se. I find it's giving me a better stereo image, makes room for other instrumentation, and preserves the sound when it collapses into mono.
