In praise of the Wolfgang neck profile

Greetings,

When I was doing research on the build I'm currently doing, I saw The Aaron's vid of his personal guitar and he mentioned he prefers and uses the Wolfgang profile.  Came across a maple roasted one in the showroom and figured...why not???  So, I ordered the neck with 6115 frets and TUSQ XL nut.

I'm in the final stages of my Warmoth Tele build.  Just strung up the guitar last night to start the intonation process and check the electronics.  Wow, I dig the profile.  Just enough extra meat on the thumb side to get a nice leverage point for the thumb and enough shaved away on the finger side to allow easy finger movement.  It feels very easy to play.  I also have a Gibson Midtown, which has Gibby's asymmetrical neck profile.  Similar to the Wolfgang, but Warmoth's dimensions just nail it for me.

Of course, sanding from 800-2000 grit gives the backside of the neck an effortless and silky feel as well.  But the profile is outstanding.  I'm already planning another build and will be on the lookout for another Wolfgang profile neck.

All hail....the Wolfgang neck profile!

Since I like real Wolfgangs, it stands to reason I'd like the Warmoth version.

Indeed ... the wolfgang is sweet.  My current fav, probably will be for the rest of my life.

I was leaning towards the Wolfgang profile but I wasn't sure if it was worth the $35 upcharge. Then I tried an EVH Striped and I was blown away by how comfortable the profile is. I'm locked in on the Wolfgang now, just undecided if I wanna go Modern or Vintage/Modern.
