I've been cleaning out the music room and getting rid of a few things when I came across these babies.  Both have sat in their box for the two years since I bought them.  That's a BKN Trilogy bridge Strat replacement and a Rockfield mafia Neck HB. I already have three builds in various stages of completion, so I'm not sure what to do with these..try selling them to help fund my other projects? Or try and find a cheap Warmoth body to put them in? These pickups are hard-edged high gain mean machines compared to the rest of my timid brood, so there's certainly a niche in my collection..and I do have a Peavey strat-type neck lying already lying around.....I'm not into "standard" builds so it would have to be something a little offbeat....

Any ideas?

How about a rear routed strat body. Quilted maple top dyed Bright blue with a black burst only on the edges. maple back (that should make it scream) if not, mah. or something. Wilky Gold Trem, gold knobs (Strat config) gold pickup rings, gold etc.

Anything missing?

Edit:I read again, it doesn't look like on the W site that you can have laminate tops on strats, so go all out and get a one piece quilt maple! It doesn't matter if you can! :toothy11:

HSS pup with strat config

Wilky trem

Gold hardware.

Musiclander body (closeout) with padouk / ebony conversion strat neck. $400 plus the cost of paint. Get a trem off of ebay and you're nearly done. Lightweight, fun, cool, exotic neck.

Strat with tele style switching and knobs (control plate optional). Tiger eye finish. Neck HB and bridge SC

Since you got a bucker and a single, you could do the EVH thing....Just change the cover on the single to a black cover. And chop up a pick guard and give this $199 body some wht/blk stripes...

Or you could go even cheaper with this $139 soloist body and have a single routed in the neck pos...

I think EVH didn't even have the neck single wired in.  :icon_scratch:
He didn't know enough, which is also why he has no tone control.

Thanks guys there's some nice ideas there...that Tele looks lovely, and I've always wanted to try a Musiclander build....

Sell them, three projects are enough and they need lots of money.

As it happens that is the path I have gone down.  I've already sold the BKN. I figure I can sell these, finish off my current projects and get stuck into a new project that really has me jazzing...A Sci-Fi Musiclander inspired by Matt Bellamy of Muse. Stay tuned!!
