Impatience!

Hello everyone,

I have to share my feelings a little bit.
After having ordered my things about 3 weeks ago, I contacted "my" sales representative a couple of days ago he told me that I still have to wait about another 9 weeks....... Which will make it about middle of January.
So I still have to wait, wait and wait........ I am a little impatient, but I bet it's worth the wait.
I just can't wait to get all the things, photograph them and put the pics in the forum.

Anyway, how do you guys do it to make all the pics small and when you click on them they get bigger?

Bye  JULIA

Those would be attachments.

You click on "Attachments and other options," then hit "browse" and select a pic.

Most find it much more convenient to link images from external hosting sites like Flickr or Photobucket.
You do that by grabbing the URL of the image and putting an image code around it.

Well Julia, I can say your neck plate will arrive well before 9 weeks, so that's a start I guess... :icon_biggrin:

I ordered a custom build neck and body on October 6th, and they quoted me the same amount of time.

My neck just arrived on Friday, and my body is scheduled for Monday the 14th.  My build was a little over a month.

I called my "sales rep" about a week ago to get an update on the progress and the answer I received was the same: it was halfway through and still expected around the 8-10 week mark.  I was depressed until I received the email from UPS with my scheduled delivery dates.

Just order more stuff.  The wait for the 2nd and 3rd builds get easier, or at least less excruciating.  Doesn't really help you now though.

Eventually, you'll have enough spare parts lying around that you could build an entire extra guitar - but it wouldn't be what you want. Still, you can skulk about in the semi-darkness and fondle your bits, dreaming of better days ahead. :glasses9:

I just realized, I received my body a year ago Friday, Nov 11. Talk to me then grasshopper. Patience.

Patience Julia Patience  :icon_biggrin:
You are getting something built from scratch, (like me too) you don't won't them to send it to you with paint still drying !!
Also your's is double binding too.
:icon_scratch: It's only been 3 weeks, when they do say it takes approx 10 -12 weeks, plus I'd say they are busy
at the moment, as people are trying to get stuff before Xmas / New year.

Sure others have had their's sent within this time line, but might have been a easier build / finish.

I don't even bother hassling them for it, when it's ready, it's ready.

When posting pic's as attachments, make sure it's converted to JPG ..... It won't work if it's JPEG !!
Just change the format.

Here's a Link from another forum, of how to post pic's using PhotoBucket.

Cheers  :occasion14: and hang in there !!

I'm usually pretty good about the wait until I get the shipping notice, then I start losing it.

As for the pics, the previous advice is probably easiest to follow. You need a source that's externally addressable, and your own HDD rarely is as that's very poor practice and may not be reliably accessible as your machine goes on and offline or your IP address changes. You could lease some commercial server space, which lets you do some other things as well. They're practically giving that stuff away any more. Or, you may already have some and be unaware of it. Most ISPs grant you a small amount of space on their servers, say around 50M, for doing minor things. It's not a whole lot of space when you're posting pictures, but you're already paying for it. Might want to check into that.

Just wait it out. I had to wait 11 weeks for my crazy-ass builds (see my running thread) and they're still far from being complete. I have to wait on hardware, then I'll have to wait some time for the inlay to be done. The finish is nearly done, though. All in all, from start to end, it would be 9 months waitin n workin. Literally, like twin children.

I'm the same way....I prob check the tracking every hour to see where in route it is.  It's painful.

Hi guys,

thanks for your understanding. I just want to embrace the "new stuff" and welcome it at home. Get the things to a luthier - get it build together and then "shoot" a photo of my guitar family......

I'm getting kind of nuts, but it's ok. It's probably getting worse, as soon as I get that notice that they had sent the stuff.......

I just had hoped the guitar could get build together before New Year's eve.....
I guess that doesn't work out.  :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

Don't bother hassling them. Like somebody else said, when it's ready it's ready. When I'm waiting on builds to arrive, I just try to learn as many cool licks as I can so that when the parts do arrive, I can unleash the fury.

@ llstratocaster,

no, I won't hassle them. Everything has to be just perfect, that's why I chose to not go with show case body/neck. That's a good idea, to practice more.......

@ Needs a turbo Deluxe Floyd,

well, I ordere the stuff around October 20th. So I figured and hoped that I'll get it before New Year's.

@ PaulXerxen

thanks for your thought, but over here in Germany I couldn't play the video. But I know the song and love it.

Hey Updown,

well, I always thought the wood needs to get stored before being worked on.....
Did that method get changed? They cut the tree and immediately start working on the cut wood??? :laughing7:
Just trying to tease some.....

Bye to all of you

Lets see who gets it 1st  :icon_biggrin:

:icon_scratch: Anyone know, if Warmoth close down between Xmas & New year ?

As some places close for 1-2 weeks. (well down here in Oz they do)
I didn't even know Warmoth existed this time last year

They're shutting down for the Thanksgiving weekend (Thurs-Sun), but that's it.
