While I'm waiting on my car to get fixed, what's going on in your lives?

Had a week that was supposed to be great! Had three day chat with the engineers of the Research Centre of my company, some of the brightest mind in Brazil with the most advanced technology here... And I couldn't pay attention in about 2 days... thinking on the guitar of the drawing, etc...
Sometimes I think I've not really born to do the job I'm doing...

I'm with you on that one. I solve the more interesting of the billing problems for T-Mobile customers and while I was sorting out massive overage charges I was thinking, "Hmm, wenge or pau ferro.."

Home from work sick. Pretty bored, streaming netflix, reading the forums, and making HDRi composites from old photo sets.

I've got a pau ferro neck, not attached to a guitar yet, but so far I'm digging it. I've gotta give a thumbs up for pau... but wenge sounds like it'd be super nice too.

The ultimate goal is three Precision basses. Necks will be solid rosewood (already have), pau ferro and wenge. So the question is just, which one next?

I am really too busy at work to check the forum... but I still do anyway :)
got to complete my "self review" for the past year within the next hour... I hate annual review time.. the good part is that I no longer have direct reports, so I only have to do my own and not 30 others...

I have to do a report every month that covers my performance stats for the last two months as well as goals for next month, and what I'm changing to meet those. Which, if you do the math, means I ultimately report on every month three times. January's report was for November, December and January. February's is for December, January and February, then January, February, and March...

What is lacks in redundancy, it makes up for in sillyness.

i'm planning a p-bass build, when i saw this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=250562669307&Category=47073&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D2#ht_8833wt_1167

the price isn't outrageous for a standard, and it's the (dun dun dun) natural burst. my all time favorite finish on the SG. dammit. my question though, does the gibson logo on the headstock look a little weird to anybody else? it looks like somebody went over it with white-out. it's just out of my price range, but man that is my dream guitar... what to do...?

I'm not too sure, but I'd be inclined to say wenge next. I've heard nothing but good things about wenge.

Whats goin on with the wheels?  Hope its not too serious.. but seven hours... jeeze

Two to three hours to get it into the shop, three to four to find out what is wrong with it and fix it, THEN I get the price tag. They wanted $88 just to scan it to tell me exactly what was broken, I said just fix it and save me the $88.

I was asked to leave it and come back tomorrow, but I'm off today and have no ride away from here.

Well I'll mention something going on right now. My little cousin (age 10) had a tumor found running from the lower part of his brain to is shoulders. He went into surgery yesterday and the doctors got about 50% of it out but he's still got a long road ahead of him of radiation and probably chemo and at this point we still don't know if those treatments will even be effective. Please keep him in your prayers.

That's rough man, I've had family go through chemo with mixed results. My kid sister is about that age. I think it should be illegal for anyone that young to get cancer. Best of luck to you and yours.

That's really bad, mate!
I'm not a normaly prayer man, but count me in this time! I hope the best for your cousin and your family... These ARE hard times!

Justinginn, that's just awful. I hope all goes well, kids getting cancer is just wrong.

I've had a pretty crappy day myself (nothing as bad as that), my ex is moving out tomorrow and I have come to realise just how big a hole she will leave in my life. We've had some good talks over the last week and may against all odds remain friends after all. She's done a couple of sh*tty things that came close to sever all ties between us, but I just don't care anymore. I don't want her back, but this hurts like hell.

Sounds like a perfectly good reason (as if one was needed) for a new guitar.

Sorry to hear the bad news guys. Hopefully things work out for both of you, and your families.
Cancer is no good, two of my parents' neighbors have been battling it, and one just lost.

I'm gonna throw up some HDRi images I came up with sittin' around today.
All taken in the wonderful land of warmoth, er, washington.

Did I mention I'm utterly broke? :icon_jokercolor:

What I will do though is get to work on all these songs I have floating around semi-finished and do something with them. I have three weeks until I start at my new job, so I'd better make the best of the time! It's probably too soon to start gigging, but not too soon to investigate the possibilities.
