The only background noise discernable is from the reverb on the Vibrolux. Nearly silent operation. Starting from positions 1-5 with guitar volume rolled back to 70%.

Thank you, Robert!  I’ll do a better demo this week if possible. This was just to showcase the hum/buzz reduction. Hard to really highlight the differences in the different switch positions at such low volume.

I can only imagine what it will sound like with a proper recording. I'm sold on the Illitch coil system. I wonder if you could install one of those coils in a pedal to use with any of your single-coil guitars.

That’s an interesting question. I’m not sure what proximity has to do with the effect, but I imagine it’s quite a bit. There’s a newer product in the lineup that is installed within a bathtub trench cut around the pickup routes below thw pick guard. He also makes the system within a pickguard. I understand the most effective one is the ring that’s installed around the pickups.  Can’t imaginw these being any quieter. It’s dead silent when I face my amp from an angle.

It makes sense that proximity has a bearing on the results.

I must apologize, I deliberately mis-used your recording. I was supposed to use it to evaluate the noise canceling system, but instead I used it to dig how sweet the guitar sounds. It sounds VERY sweet. Is that just the guitar straight in to the amp or is there more in the chain?

Why thank you,  you may not believe this, but this was performed with such little pick attack. Kid was sleeping downstairs, so was at low volume. I’ll show you the variations in texture between picking dynamics and volume knob work soon.  I don’t feel that was very accurate as a first example!, but this rig can sound so damn sweet and delicate when you work the guitar right. Beautiful thing is being able to set the amp at edge of breakup and let your fingers determine clean to breakup with their attack.  Fingerpicking is so rewarding with this rig in that regard.

That was plugged straight in with nothing in between. Due to the light picking, it’s hard to distinguish which position I was in, but the next example will be more clear. I’ll make it about the pickups and amp.

Edit: lol if you recall Michael Bolton’s cover of, “when a Man Loves a woman”, then you know that bubbly neck strat tone I’m referring to. When the guitar volume dialed back to 7, or plugged into the low gain input with guitar volume just slightly backed off, that’s the tone!  Throw it on the 2nd notch position and it’s Knopfler all night long.  Roll the volume to 10 and it’s sharper, more Hendrix/Fruschante. All the classic tones are in there!  I haven’t even tried it with my Maxon OD808 or Tumnus. I’m not even curious! It’s a total guitar-cable-amp rig. Needs nothing.
