Hey, I don't know if such a thread has been made before, couldn't find one anyway. So if you guys were super rich, what kind of Warmoths / non-Warmoths guitars would you guys get?

I'd personally get a

Warmoth Strat (which I'll be slowly ordering in the next year):
- Alder body, light yellow finish
- White pickguard S-S-S, 3 Dimarzio Area 67
- CBS Birdseye maple vintage gloss neck/fingerboard
- Recessed Wilkinson tremolo

Warmoth Les Paul:
- Mahogany body, cherry sunburst finish on flame maple top
- Cream pickguard H-X-H, 2 Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II
- Les Paul maple neck, rosewood fingerboard
You know the classic stuff ;)

Warmoth Flying V:
- Black korina body, butterscotch finish
- No pickguard H-X-H, 2 gold Dimarzio Air Classic
- Flying V maple neck, rosewood fingerboard

That's all I can think of for now :P

What's cool is you don't have to have all the money in the World for kickass Warmoth.  I'd just have more of them.

How many do you have right now?

i'd have a large collections of carved top teles, LPs, soloists, and (if i had all the money in the world) i'd convince them to make me a carved top strat. hell, i'd buy the plans, blueprints, CNC machine. whatever i needed for it  :icon_biggrin:

Nice, I'm still trying to figure out what to do first:
Upgrade my Crate amp for Carvin X100B
or
build my first Warmoth (which I'm STILL not sure if it's gonna be a Strat or Les Paul)

I think the best choice would be the amp upgrade to a great tube amp.. but I'd die to get a new guitar :(

Go for the amp first, it's harder to get, a good Warmoth is always ( I hope) an option in the future

Having said that, you gotta maintain a focus and eventually get that Warmoth, you'l love it.

Oh and by the way, if I had a ton of money, I'd spend a lot buying W guitars, and maybe buy the damn company, but it may lose it's apeal if i could have every guitar i wanted on a whim.  It's a double edged sword.

Imagine that Ken could walk in the shop at any time and build a new guitar (and i'm bettin he has) that must get old,

You're right, and I'm too uncertain about what's going to be my first build, I just feel like I'm going to be disappointed if I make one too quick. The amp can be more important than a guitar in term of getting your own sound.

By the way, any thoughts on Carvin amps?

if i had all the money in the world i definitely wouldn't settle for maple necks on my warmoths. EXOTIC WOODS FTW

I pretty much already have the Warmoth I'd build if I were a billionaire.  They're just not that expensive.  :icon_thumright:  I guess if I had all the money in the world, I'd get one for every room of the house.  When I couldn't fit any more in my house, I'd build 'em for fun and donate them to needy rock-deprived children or something.

yeah. poor guy.

I'd start with this one:

Well, as much fun as it is to sit here and dream I can only imagine the reality of having unlimited funds would take away the appeal of a lot of stuff. For me the waiting and saving gives it that much more value to me. I actually sit here and go through every single thing on their site and make sure I'm getting what I want. If I had unlimited funds, maybe not so.

But, to keep to the spirit of the thread the guitars I'd like to have would be.....

Warmoth
Spalt top strat
Burl top Strat

Non-Warmoth
ESP James Hetfield Explorer, black metal plated one
Gibson Les Paul Custom in white
EVH Wolfgang
Fender Custom Shop Master Builder Strat

MULLY

Hmmm...

Warmoth:
- A not-a-Str*t (LP body) with Roadhouse pickups
- Thinline with at least one CC pickup

2 Crimson guitars (pimped out LPs basically)

Various Navigator/Tokai/Bacchus/Greco/Burnys, LP and Gretsch clones. (At most 4 total of these)

A very good classical guitar

...the rest I would spend on amp+rig!

I mostly have the warmoths I really want - maybe a carved tele with P90s and a HH strat, and maybe a real vintage look / modern spec butterscotch tele. The upcoming 32" Jazz bass of course, too. Just four or so off the top of my head.
Non-warmoth: a rick 360 and 12 string rick, an ES335 or heritage model, a good SG, and don't get me started on acoustics or tube amps.

I'd buy a bunch of vintage guitars, put one of every kind away in a vault, then burn the rest and watch the value of the remaining ones skyrocket.

I'm just kidding, but that is the kind of thing the uber rich would think of doing.

If I wasn't as broke as I am right now, though, the carved top Tele, and the Tele with a Bigsby I've been wanting would be reality.

the same as I am already planning for next year, except the indian rosewood neck would be a Brazilian rosewood neck.

I would have the following-

- Warmoth SG with black dyed quilt top on mahogany, all wenge neck, no inlay.  Rio Grand TX/BBQ set. Floyd.

- Warmoth Telecaster Thinline, mahogany body w/ all rosewood neck, linseed oil and shellac finish w/distressed hardware including a bigsby.

- Warmoth L5s similar to Blue313's raffle guitar.  I love how that turned out.

- Warmoth Jaguar with very dark iridescent purple/green candy finish either by me with the help of Tonar, or I would just send it off to Tonar, ebony and purpleheart neck.

- Warmoth Firebird baritone

- Warmoth 12 string LPS or VIP

Non- Warmoth

- Rickenbacker anything

- Vintage Gibson 335

- Taylor T5

- there are a number of acoustics I want including Taylor, Larrivee, Breedlove, and Tanglewood

I also want to build something like this:

With all the money in the world I would buy Warmoth - the company - and then start thinking about the opportunities.  :icon_biggrin:
