Did a clean-up job on a 197? SG Custom.

From what I've been told, the former owner played in a nightclub in Hong Kong in the 1980s.

Obviously a very smoky nightclub.

This guitar got played a lot, then spent a long time in its case. It's a player, certainly no time capsule piece.

I cleaned it up best I could with Scratch X. With all the cigarette tar I was tempted to try chemotherapy.

The photos are all before the cleaning, and the photo of the rag seems to make a pretty good anti-smoking commercial.

Nice score.  From the bridge, and the lack of sculpting on the inner horn area, I'd say early 70's...

Needs the proper nut put back on.  Also, check that intonation!~
