Greetings everyone, and especially all Unofficial Warmoth Forum contest participants!~

Staff really looks forward to seeing all the great guitars and basses that get submitted every  month for contest entries.  "WE" get to see them first (well second, their owner saw them first).  You get the idea, its like being at the directors preview for a big time movie release - except no gowns and tuxes!

There are some things that will greatly simplify and expedite the submission process for all the folks involved.

a.  Please send the photos (and the photos are GREAT) as an attachment to your submission email.  Sending links to some photo-storage site or a website already displaying the photo tends to make things difficult.  In a few past cases, we were unable to get photos from a photo-storage site due to logon and privacy constraints.  One site had anti-copy/past stuff built into their code, so we could not right-click and "save image as".  An attachment is a straightforward and standard way of doing things, so that's what we're asking for.

b.  Please clearly state your forum user name in the text of the email.  We like to think that contest staff are a friendly bunch of folks, but there are simply too many forum users to know and recall all of your names.  Some entrants have included guitar names, or (we think) their user name is part of their return email address.  Its all confusing from our end when there are a whole lot of users and only a very few staff.

c.  Please don't get fancy with the layout of your submissions description.  Plain text is all we ask for.  We've had HTML code, embedded spreadsheets, old WordStar document files attached, and even weirder stuff.  What that does - is force staff to literally re-write your description, verbatim, onto the forum submission thread.  If we do that mistakes will happen, and more importantly, it takes a huge amount of time.  We need to be able to copy/paste text from the email to the forum.

It sounds like the staff here is a bunch of whiny wimps, please remember that we're all just volunteers, we all have regular lives, jobs and families, and our time to administer the contest, as much fun as that can be, is always shared with all the rest of the things collectively called "life".  I can assure you, that with the exception on one staff member, we're all a bunch of he-man burly types, however that lone staff member is female and much gnarlier than the rest of us!

Most of you are all saying - hey I did all that stuff.  GREAT!!!! We love ya!  For the rest of the folks, all we ask is that you help us to help you, by using the few guidelines we've provided.

Many thanks!
