I shook Linda Manzer's hand today

Patrick from Davis said:
Oh play her a song with a reference to her, how much the guitar means, and a graceful bend, and I am sure she'll see the light.

If you knew Peggy, you'd know that that would not even remotely work.  :)

So I took the family out to Peggy's shop this weekend.  She wanted to check the guitar to ensure everything was OK post bender installation.  We drove up and Linda was there as well working on a guitar.

So my kids are pretty cute and Peggy and Linda fell for their charms.  Linda was showing the boys how to bend wood sides using steam and a bending iron.  I was watching this thinking "Jeeze - my kids are getting a guitar making lesson from Linda Manzer"  :o

Then the small one turned around and saw a poster of the Pikasso guitar pinned to the wall.  He immediately points right to it and has a massive belly laugh about how that guitar "looks really funny".  He seriously laughed about it for 5 minutes going on about how silly it looked. Meanwhile Linda and Peggy where looking on with amused expressions.  Linda finally said something like "well, I got a lot of different reactions to it, but laughter is the best one".  Then she took the poster down and gave it to him saying "now you can laugh at it all the time if you like".

Peggy and my wife Lisa were looking at each other saying "I know you from somewhere".  They finally figured out that Peggy was our travel agent a million years ago when you still booked travel using an agent.  They immediately started talking about trips while my kids were busy laughing at Linda's career defining creation right in front of her.

And the bender?  They thought it was pretty interesting - especially when I played it a bit.  Linda's comment was "Don't show that to Steven Fearing.  He'll want one".

It was all smiles when we all parted.  Fun times.  It's pretty cool knowing these folks in person.

Hey Trevor, how you doing with this guitar... started listening some country music some time ago and got interested in B Bender... Most problem is that Brad Paisley uses a G Bender... what a prick... Think the double-bender on a acoustic would be impossible...

BTW: all the photos went down, post more pics :P
