I shook Linda Manzer's hand today

Here's the woman who's gonna make my guitar:

No, not the one on the left, the one on the right!  :)

Do you extend a slab of wood inside the guitar from just behind the soundhole to the tailpiece? And attach the bridge to it very, very firmly... cause that's what I'd do.

I'll let Peggy work it out.  She's already in contact with Gene Parsons about it.  Likely we'll go with the Parson's acoustic bender.

The above pictures look like a cutaway, if I understand what a cutaway is. Unless that's not his guitar.

I'm interested in seeing how they pull of this B-bender business once the Floyd is installed.

apparently to make money at the custom guitar game you need to be good AND fast.
Pretty much that! When you see the work it needs, the time to do it, the cost of woods and parts, the money seems pretty thin....
Which kind of Spruce will be used?

So is it gonna be a cut away model or a dreadnaught style...I'm confused... :icon_scratch:

It's a cutaway.  Not a dread, but rather a custom shape.

Sitka spruce.  Peggy chose it after listening to the band.

Peggy just finished the guitar in the queue ahead of mine:

I'm such a name dropper!!  :headbang:

Nice. Not the guitar I'd want, but I'm sure it's exemplary of its class.

So, now you're up. What kinda time frame are you looking at?

Who's Linda Manzer?
:dontknow:
A well known acoustic luthier. In fact she created a design that many other custom acoustic luthiers use, the Manzer wedge.
Basically it is a wedge in sides that allows the sound board and back of the guitar to not be parallel. For larger guitars, this increases the comfort in playing.

The other option is the Ryan bevel which accomplishes the same goal in a different manner. Both have thier pros and cons.

Myself when I was looking to commission a McKnight build, I was going to have a Manzer wedge.
