...and not only that. My mind was just blown! Gimme a second...
Hallo Leute,
by (what I at first assumed, was) absolute coincidence I found an issue of the german guitar magazine "Gitarre & Bass" today, issue März (march) 1996. I was 12 then and I just got my first electric guitar a few months earlier, a bright red Fenix strat copy... but that would be a completely different story.
My father bought that issue, because there was an Interview with Paul McCartney in it. And besides a review of a sexy Duesenberg Starplayer II...

...there was also a review of a Fender 90s-Telecaster-Deluxe (Foto-Flame) (Made in Japan):

Verdammt! Ok, everything else is different, but body contours on a Telecaster, reversed control plate (which is even joked about in the review)... I am pretty sure I've seen it in this article first, 29 years ago, and it somehow stuck.
But finding that is not the only coincidence, because 17 pages later I found THIS ad in the bottom right corner
:

Or, I mean, IS IT? A coincidence? I don't know!
It sure feels... supernatural...
Thing is, I remember the pictures of those bodies in that ad and thinking "oh, this is what they look like underneath the pickguard" (but in german, cos I was 12 and couldn't think english yet), but...
I don't know, this is so weird reading the name Warmoth now under an ad, in the same magazine that seems to have subconsciously influenced (some of) the Telecaster aesthetics I used in my Warmoth Teilecaster build.
Oh, and just to make it perfect: If you turn the page with that ad, there is a review of a Marshall VS-65R, 2nd generation valvestate, on the other side. I have one of those at home, in orange, and I still use it as practise amp.
I mean... is it a coincidence? Can it be?
