I have some bass building questions

I am new to this so sorry if i posted in wrong forum

I am not sure what parts I need to build a standard 5-or-8 string bass so if someone can give me a list that would be good of course i need a body,neck,bridge,tuning machine,strings and knobs

and also i want to know if i can put a 5 string bass bridge with whammy on a LP bass body

What bridge exactly?

And the basics:
Neck
tuners
neck plate
neck screws
body
bridge
pots
knobs
wires
cap
jack
jack plate
pickguard
pickguard screws
pickups
pickup selector switch
strings

Some pickups will need mounting hardware.

And I think that's it.

That'll work, but they'll need to route it. If you're going custom order, it won't be a problem. Just specify the bridge, and they'll route a spring cavity, a tremolo hole, and stud holes.

Neck - 1 (unless you're building a double neck)
tuners = to # of strings
neck plate - 1
neck screws - standard is 4 bolts per plate
body - 1
bridge - 1
pots - depends on how you want to wire it all up
knobs - see above
wires - see above
cap - see above
jack - 1
jack plate - 1
pickguard - 1
pickguard screws - depends on pickguard
pickups - 1, 2, or 3
pickup selector switch - depends on how you wire it up, may not be needed
