humbucker rings

are normally routes for humbuckers spacious enough to hold humbucker rings?

or do the rings lie outside the route and the routing fits only the humbucker?

i actually do not want to use a humbucker ring.

rather i want the humbucker to be mounted directly without the ring like the albert collins tele below :

so do i need to specifically instruct warmoth for this?
 
The normal routing for humbuckers is the correct size...
A ring would fit around the route, on the top surface of the body.
So the routing you want is the standard one, and will work for your pickguard mounted neck humbucker.

that humbucker also hangs in a humbuckerring. a very large one though, the pickguard, but the function and workings are the same...
