HSS Rosewood Soloist

I realized I never took any good photos of my Rosewood Soloist build, so while I was doing some backyard 'wildlife' photography this weekend I thought I would take some good ones and submit here for posterity:

Soloist body with Rosewood Top and Mooncaster Neck in flame Maple / Rosewood, with my ‘Patent Applied For’ Gunslinger headstock design . (The Mooncaster is a perfect headstock for modding, as there is a lot of wood).

• Ash back and sides stained with Rubio Pre Color Mystic Brown and Smoked Brown mixed to make a nice matching contrast to the Rosewood Top
• Masked ‘Faux Binding’ accent line
• Natural color on Rosewood Top
• Finished with Rubio Monocoat Pure Oil 2C and Sheen Plus
• Neck Headstock finished with the Rubio/Sheen plus, and shaft burnished to 3000 grit Super Buflex
• Fretboard rolled and Frets leveled, polished and edge dressed

Hardware:

• Mojotone 59 Clone PAF Modern Humbucker
• Mojotone 58 Quiet Coil Single Coils
• Gotoh 510TS-FE1 S Tremolo Bridge
• Gotoh Magnum Lock Trad staggered locking tuners
• Mojotone Custom Taper CTS pots, one volume / one tone. Push-Pull to split Humbucker.
• Mojotone Custom Treble Bleed Volume Mod (220K resistor in parallel with a 471pf capacitor)
• Oak Grigsby 5-Way Switch

I wanted everything gold and black, no silver, so I made a few mods to existing parts.

• Bought two sets of Gotoh Mag Lock Tuners to make my own Gold and Black.
• Replaced silver intonation screws and springs, and saddle height adjustment screws on the Gotoh 510TS-FE1 S with black ones.
• Gold washer and nut for the swithcraft output jack.
• All gold screws.
