Looking to do a triple humbucker build but wanted the middle to be a HSP90. Went down a long rabbit hole on deciding how to wire it up. What would be the best way to get the most out of the pickups? 4 knobs? Push/pulls? Splitting the coils? Concentric?
Open and eagerly awaiting all suggestions :)

This one's easy ... go to the Freewayswitch.com website... peruse the schemes and diagrams. Once you see something you like ... just pick it. You know yourself better than anyone.

Triple pickups are more fun IMO. However I’m not a fan of complex switching arrangements. I think that a standard 5-way blade, master volume, and master tone can potentially give good results. The trick to getting usable and well balanced tones is careful pickup selection. The coil split wiring is an interesting option, but it really depends on the specific pickups used. If you use high output pickups the notch position tones can be muddy and indistinct, so coil split is probably a good idea in that case.

Vintage output PAF humbuckers could work very well using the basic 5-way blade without any coil split. If it was my guitar, I’d approach it along those lines, but add a toggle switch that splits the bridge humbucker when the blade switch is in position 2 only.
