HS Wiring with 5-Way switch

Hey all, I'm in need of some help with this wiring diagram. It's for 1 humbucker and 1 single coil, with coil tap (split?...) in certain positions. The diagram doesn't say what kind of switch it is, but from what I can tell, it's this one: http://www.stewmac.com/Pickups_and_Electronics/Components_and_Parts/Switches/Oak_Grigsby_Super_Switch.html

Could anyone confirm?

I really like having so many possibilities, with minimal controls.

Thanks!  :headbang:

Depending on what you are installing it in, those 4-pole Super Switches can present some installation issues. They are big! You can also accomplish this wiring with the smaller 2-Pole Super Switch:

I do it like this for Teles with bridge single coil and neck humbucker:

Tele%205-Way%20Fat%20Tele%20Neck%20HB.pdf

Or for a humbucker in the bridge and a single coil in the neck:

Tele%205-Way%20Fat%20Tele%20Bridge%20HB.pdf

This approach splits the humbucker to the screw coil.

Okay, i thought so. Thanks.
I assume the 4 pole super switch will fit in a strat with no issues?

Hard to say that's a hard-and-fast truth, but I can say I've put the 4-pole switch in a Warmoth Strat and in a Fender Custom Shop Strat with no issues in either case.

I had (probably still have) one that was sold as 'genuine Fender' and the contacts/lugs are on the opposite sides of the wafers like this:

Stewmac's:

The Fender one would have been difficult to fit in a Tele but I would expect it to be ok in a Strat, so I'd be surprised if the Stewmac one caused problems - if it's supplied as pictured. Schaller make even thinner ones, but they use solder pads instead of lugs.

Okay, cool. Thanks.

I guess I'll just have to try it and see if any issues come up!

I have put the Fender Superswitch in a Tele and don't remember it being problematic.

I've seen other mentions of it being a problem and also other people saying the opposite. Having thought about it, I'm now not even sure I actually tried fitting it myself.

I'll get me coat.

I can't remember ever putting a 4 pole in a Tele, but they do have pretty small control cavities so I wouldn't be surprised to hear that it's a problem. That said, the slot in the cover plate that the actuator feeds through is centered, so it should work. How well it fits is probably going to depend more on how the wiring is routed than anything else.
