HS Thinline tele with coiltap?

You're looking at the spliner and ignoring the board.

The problem with a hb in the neck on a tele is not the ways it can be wired, but the relative strength of each pickup.

May I humbly suggest that you use a hot  tele  bridge,  with a mild hb at the neck.  Something like a Fralin +10 or +15 at the bridge, and something like a BB#1 or 57 Classic at the neck.

wwell actually i'm doing the exact opposite. I have a 12k neck and a 7.1k bridge. I read in many forums that vintage output humbuckers sound really thin and lifeless, so i've bought a hot but not extra hot pair so i could use both functions properly. It's going to be a blues/funk/ alt rock guitar, so i don't mind a little more gain :laughing7:
