Are CNC machines magical, or what? That's tempting. I saw another heavily carved body some time back...

That one's even got a spare string! <grin>

Would anyone really actually play these instruments?
And if it's all just CNC work instead of man made, what's the magic?

It's not all Machine work, someone had do program the machine to do that. Sure it might all be done with a auto Cad like system, but it's still a skill.

I'm guessing this is more guitar 'art' than a playable instrument.

Isn't that eagle from the presidential (USA) seal?

I know Bill Clinton played the sax, did we have any guitar playin' presidents in recent history?

Obama has played everybody for a fool. Does that count? <grin>

Hey, compared to our last president, I think he's doing allright.  He's kept us from being the victims of 'terrorists' now longer than W did.  People forget that in 7 1/2 months as president, we were attacked by 'terrorists'

So I would say on national security alone, Obama is doing way better than W did, just in keeping us safe

I don't think he has played us for a fool, I just think we as a country are impatient.

I agree 100% that it's a skill. It's more like that somehow I'd appreciate it more if it was an actual man with a hammer and a chisel. :)

IMHO I think you nailed it. But let's not hijack this topic any further. :)

I'm pretty good with working with my hands on anything.... guitars, bikes, cars, houses, lawn mowers etc.....  But what amazes me is where would someone even begin to make something like this?  I don't know where I would start!!!  Actually I would start at the lumber yard!!!  But from there..... :icon_scratch:

I hear you... and noted.  This one is about those funky guitars that Doug found!!!!!  I wonder if he's secretly making the neckplates for these?

I just can't see why it's got Telecaster pickups and controls. I love Teles, but this just seems... odd.

+1

I would think someone would use a strat setup for something like this.

I'm guessing it's for a country and western 'Real American' player?!?!?!?!?! :icon_thumright: :icon_scratch:

"We have both kinds of music here.  Country AND Western!!"
