How tolerant are tolerances? Bridge question

I have become amazed by piezo bridge systems...and am considering installing one on a guitar I have.  The bridge is currently a GOTOH tune-o-matic.  Pole spacing is 2.91 inches.  The fishman system states their pole spacing is 2.935.  My question is how tight are these tolerances?  ALL of the bridges vay flightly...tonepros...LR Braggs, Fishman..graphtech...yet all state they can be retro fitted.

that's only a bit less than 1/32 inch but i'd say it is just enough to give you problems without modification. you can likely elongate one or both of the holes in the bridge with a small round file but be careful nmot to lift the plating on the top side. if you push the file down from the top only you should be good and the holes will only be oblong by .0125 each if you file them both which is 1/80th of an inch or about the size of a typical b string on a light set. infact that might be a good gauge if you don't have calpiers or a hole gage. just put the post in the hole and try to squeeze a b string up next to it after a few strokes of the file.
