Apparently Art Major is contagious.

Squinting real hard, but can't see the quilt.

This one - definitely don't need more cowbell.

Ok, totally unrelated (almost): I was googling Epic Fail, and this was just too freaking funny to pass up. Best demotivational poster(s) ever.

that guy keeps on trying to sell that piece of garbage :P I recognise that awesome paintwork anytime of the week. even without glasses

Yep, that turd art project has been in constant re-list mode for months.  He'd do better to strip it and call his attempt at finishing a total loss instead of trying to get some other eBay sap to pay for his mistakes.

I beg to ask, why did he cover the quilt anyway?

Not everybody appreciates figured woods. Even on this forum, there are those who derisively refer to such bodies as "coffee tables" or "table tops". They think one of the putrid surplus auto paint colors from the '50s is the way to go. Not that they're wrong; there's simply no accounting for taste. Besides, even if you don't like those old formulations, you can't help but be impressed when they're well-done. I've seen photos of Tonar's work that have forced me to change my mind about some of them.

Of course, there's simply no excuse for the pitiful finish on the body offering that started this thread. If you don't like figured maple, get rid of it, don't ruin it.

If it was a more reasonable price (say 100$) I would have suggested that we all pitch in like 5$ to buy it, have someone sand it down and raffle it off among the 20 people who contributed. Unfortunately, I'm not interested in the complexity of collecting so many contributions, or in one in 56 odds.

Just a thought. Maybe next time a "rescue" comes up?

I feel like its probably not even figured wood under there. I don't know if you guys can pick it out, but I certainly can't see any figuring in that terrible picture.

I think he is just using it as a selling point for its "rarity" which seems to be his favorite word.

Well, Liars figure, but Figures don't lie.
