How many coats are needed?

OK. So I'm spraying my headstock with clear coat aerosol (stew-mac). How many coats do you think I need to match the body (done by Warmoth) which looks pretty heavy? I didn't use sealer and it took quite a bit before I didn't see grain.

What's the typical or max number of coats you've used?

What's the cure time before polishing? 1 week or 2?

I've heard/read that you need to cure the finish for 1 month before installing the machines on the headstock. Is this true?

What kind of wood is the neck made from?

It's only the front of the headstock that's being finished. It's Imbuia. It's a Brazilian Walnut but not really a walnut. Just goes by that name.
