The eagle has landed...Well since the Cowpies can't even get out of their own way, and I'm tired of year after year of ineptness. Imma be a Houston fan... :headbang1:
meh, it's only took 10 yrs. the cowpies have sucked now for nearly 20...Do the math. I'll always be a cowboys fan, but right now I'm a houston fan... :icon_biggrin:Needs a Turbo Deluxe Floyd said:Growing up down there, that is the most fickle sports town I've ever seen. Of course shunning your own team for one that is winning is also fickle. I'm quick to remind them that every Houston sports accomplishment has an * by it. It took the Texans 10 years to make the playoffs, and a case can be made a healthy Manning would have had them at 8-8, and no playoffs. They were swept in a World Series lead by Roger Clemens who was juicing. It's never been proven in a court of law but refer to O.J. and Casey Anthony if a court judgement means anything. Their 2 NBA championships were won the years Jordan didn't play though he won the 3 previous and 3 after. All I heard last year from Texans fans was how Wade Phillips sucked. Now he's coaching for them, its a different story.
My favorite real life Houston sports joke:
Q: How do you get Houston to the Superbowl?
A: Move the team to Tennessee.
No, the Houston Oilers are the Tennessee Titans, and the Houston Texans are now the old Houston Oilers... :dontknow:AutoBat said:Houston Texans? I thought they were the Oilers.
I'll be a Cowboys fan until the day I die, and yes we are fickle. And no loosing isn't acceptable, we have a reputation to uphold..After all for phuks sake, we are "America's Team"Super Turbo Deluxe Custom said:It didn't take the Cowboys 10 years into existence to make the playoffs. For the last 16 years of Cowboy suckage, they've managed playoff appearances, a 1st round bye, and a win. But being Cowboys fans, losing isn't acceptable. BTW, aren't the Chiefs the DALLAS Texans?
A quote from a fickle Texans fan, "I'll be a fan as long as they keep winning."

Bum Phillips is from Houston... He's kinda famous... :dontknow:Super Turbo Deluxe Custom said:DangerousR6 said:No, the Houston Oilers are the Tennessee Titans, and the Houston Texans are now the old Houston Oilers... :dontknow:AutoBat said:Houston Texans? I thought they were the Oilers.
And the Kansas City Chiefs are the old Dallas Texans, and Houston is still a Johnny Come Lately wannabe sports town. ZZ Top and 13th Floor Elevator are the only good things to come out of Houston. Their most famous celebrities are a dead newscaster (Marvin Zindler) and a furniture salesman.

Well the KC Chief's franchise isn't, true. But the "original" Dallas Texans actually came from New York in 1951 and folded in '52 and were NFL. Then in 1960, the league made a second venture into Dallas and established what would become a more successful team, the Dallas Cowboys. Also in that year, the American Football League began with its own Dallas Texans; that team moved after winning the 1962 AFL Championship and became the Kansas City Chiefs. The "Texans" name has since been revived by the NFL for the current Houston Texans, which started play in 2002.Super Turbo Deluxe Custom said:DangerousR6 said:And yes the KC Chiefs are the orig. I've never liked the phrase "America's Team". It's the example of repeating a lie so much, everyone believes it. I like the Stones very much, but I don't believe they're the world's best rock n roll band, nor do I believe MJ is the King of Pop.
And the Kansas City Chiefs are not the original Dallas Cowboys, they were the Texans. Both teams cohabitated the Cotton Bowl. The Texans had a better win percentage and drew more people, but the NFL would not grant Lamar Hunt an expansion franchise in Dallas because the Cowboys were already here.
Yes I agree, the chiefs team isn't. I was just being facetious .... :icon_biggrin:Super Turbo Deluxe Custom said:So you agree? The Chiefs weren't the Cowboys.
Well it ain't the Ravens, I'll tell you that...Imma go with the Patriots... :icon_biggrin:Super Turbo Deluxe Custom said:Doug, who are you fan of now? 1 playoff win, out in the 2nd round? Hell, the Cowboys did that 2 years ago.
