I am getting ready to paint a poplar strat body I've had laying on a shelf.  I was thinking of using HOK spray cans to be able to put a 2-part poly finish on it.

According to the spec sheets, clear needs to be applied within 24 hours of color.  Since I want to lay down multiple colors and do some art work, I think that would be tough.  Is it possible to paint and clear later (after some set amount of time) or is the 24 hour window a must?

You know . . . I couldn't find rattlecan anything HOK on HOK's website. The closest I could come to that was Coast Airbrush was decanting various HOK products into spray cans.

I will say that if House of Kolor says recoat before this time or no recoating after such time, you better take it as gospel. Unless you've done some (costly $$$) experimentation on your own before paint hits that body, I would not forge ahead with an experimental attempt.

Just my $0.02 USD worth.
