Home Made Talk Box

Yea. We made a couple of those back in the late 70's using old Altec horn drivers, 1/2" clear fuel line, a few pieces of rubber and lots of duct tape!

I had one of the original ones in 1975 and it drove my mother crazy. She said it sounded satanic  :evil4:. Of course it did not help that I had Ampeg V4 and I'd turn the reverb up real high then play some real high notes on my E string and start saying "Let Me Out" over and over again so it sound like I was screaming it from some crazy tunnel.  :laughing7:

Always wondered how it was done (to lazy to look it up) Thanks also.
You know when you see all those guitarists with the facial & mouth expressions, are they

This is my all-time favorite talk-box guitar work:

Rather than trying to make the guitar talk, it's about emulating horns with plumbers-helper mutes.

You do know the Steely Dan version is Jeff Baxter playing pedal steel guitar, right?

I knew Skunk was playing the pedal steel. Are you saying that isn't a talk-box, or that he's using one on pedal steel?

You can't use a talkbox with pedal steel. The beer runs down the tube and makes a mess
