Hitler Wants a Single Cut!

Hitler is actually one of "my people." Not as a hero, or model, but as a fascinating example of how the "right" person at the "right" time (you could say "wrong" time as easily) can put a huge tweak in the direction of the world. It would be impossible for our parents to have met were it not for Hitler - and Alexander, and Napoleon, and George Washington.... etc. History is fun. And really weird, how a shlubbly kind-of losery little guy like Hitler - who looked nothing like the "Aryan Ideal" - could get 30 million people completely behind him and cause so much destruction - whew. There were like four different assassination attempts, the professional military guys knew he was indisputably headed for disaster, early too, but the people loved him.
It looks nutty - but then people are nutty. Which is the point of paying attention.

Personally, I take delight that things like the Hitler Rants Parodies are up on YT and people can make Hitler into a clown.

Because if there's one thing that Hitler did NOT want, it was to made fun out of.

At heart he was completely nuts, a real nihilist - in the sense that either you annihilated your "enemies" or they annihilated you, and you deserved it if you were the weaker of the two - pretty serious deathwish stuff tied up in there. But at the same time, he was the first great media showman, he rehearsed every gesture and fake tear and could sucker his audience into watching a four-hour speech - spellbound. Now of course he looks like a clown - which was also a willful creation on the part of the US and British media. But a lot of people still have the problem with thinking geniuses should for some reason agree with them - because, they're so smart too. And Hitler was telling everybody exactly what he was going to do, and they didn't believe it because they just didn't like it!

One thing you can be sure of, there's a copy of Hitler's "Mein Kampf" somewhere in the back of the bottom of the bookshelf of every political strategist from Karl Rove to Bill Clinton to Lee Atwater (Reagan's & Bush 1's evil genius). Like at the time, to me Reagan's strategy of minnowing out of every bit of stink from the Iran/Contra stuff by taking too many naps and pretending to be too senile to know what "the kids" were up to seemed astonishing - but Hitler explained the whole strategy behind "overenthusiastic subordinates" keeping you clean. Of course a lot goes back to Machiavelli, even Sun Tzu, King Solomon and all the other sneaky, greedy old men.

The wonder is, it all still keeps working, over and over and over. Let's just let the smart people take care of all that hard "thinking" stuff... everything's sure to be fine! :icon_thumright: Things like "truth" and "money" and "work" just have completely different meanings to the big boys.
