Hipshot ultralights for bass

I have ordered a warmoth bass neck for my SG bass, and was looking at hipshot ultralight tuners. I like the look of the "Y" shaped tuners, but can't quite figure out where the 1/2 post length comes into play. Could I get some clarification from someone that knows?

What exactly is your question?  I have ultralites on my bass... they're excellent, wouldn't change a thing.

What tuner holes did you get on the neck? The 1/2 or 3/8 is just the size of the post.

I bet they're great but they should be for the money....

Gotcha... they offer two different post diameters.  It's not the post length, it's the post's thickness.  As the other guys said you want 3/8".  That's what I did on my bass... ordered the gb7 ream and bought the hipshots from bestbassgear.

Order Hipshot stuff from anyone but Hipshot.  It goes against reason, but they cost the most by eliminating the middle man.

Manufacturers usually sell their own stuff at MSRP.  They do this intentionally so their dealers can undercut them and handle most of the retail sales.  That's why stores always have the "list price" which is what the manufacturer sells it for and "our price" which is lower.
