Hipshot Tuner Source

I used to deal with a small supplier that had access to all the Hipshot tuner line and he would sell the tuners with the knobs you wanted instead of having to buy tuners with the standard knobs then have to buy the right knobs separately like Hipshot sells them on their website. I have lost his contact info and searches of email has turned up nothing. Does anyone know who this was? I thought he might have been a forum member but perhaps not.

Yep Sporthitech is good.  If you are in Canada, Next Gen guitars is also good, although the stock they have in hipshot is smaller.  Also, you can buy tuner buttons separately, but I don't think they will sell the tuners with the buttons you want already installed.

Great source for a lot of parts, thanks guys. I couldn't help but notice the Schaller Da Vinci tuning machines, OMG I may be in love. Not sure how they would look installed but they are bitchin' in the pictures. I'm pretty fond of the Hipshots with the "industrial" knurled knobs though. Thanks again.

They look great, but I've heard they have a lot of slop and are difficult to install.  The hipshots are a breeze to install with the UMP plate and no slop.

Schaller tuners are good quality tuners. In the case of the Da Vinci they have a single locating pin, so no more difficult to install than a Fender two pin tuner for example.

The Da Vinci's are sold out, (someone else must like them) but I think they will need to be included on an upcoming project.

Sporthitech got back to me saying they don't sell the Griplock enclosed staggered with the Industrial knobs in black as a set, would have to buy the machines with knobs and also buy the replacement knobs. They did offer to install them, LOL, gee thanks.

I guess I will have to go that route to get what I want, the guy I was looking for would put any knobs with the tuner you wanted. It is not a lot of extra money but you end up with a drawer full of knobs. HA. Sounds like a good band name. Drawer full of knobs.

Just to follow up, ordered from Sporthitech, warp speed delivery and exactly as ordered. Much cheaper than buying direct. They have a sure to repeat customer now. Thank guys for the info. Just waiting on the neck from Warmoth that these go on. Oh, and I have a set of 6 standard knobs that I won't be using if anyone needs them. Black.
