then he claims he did all this "research." where is his data? he doesn't seem to even know what he would be looking for on a scope. funny thing is i can hear the difference on those strats on the b string harmonics. i love how he talks about lace sensors like they are magic. as if they don't have magnets.

Dude's been infamous around other forums for years. Basically, he used to be a guitar tech and was moderately respectable, if a bit stuck in the past. Then he had a stroke and became a complete and utter arsehole to everybody and about everything. Now he has no real customers or business, he just makes videos on youtube and sells dodgy DVDs of his rantings. He's managed to stay prolific basically just by being louder than anybody else (aka 'the Ed Roman technique').

As Wellington would say, shout, shout and shout again.


 
This guy has medical issues (if you believe his other videos), he's had several strokes, and multiple personality disorders, that are (apparently) responsible for his irrational behavior.

The last part of the 1st video rings true, and I'm paraphrasing:

i get that the guy is making a point about the tone afficianados. but he's as inacurate as they are. it's sad that nobody in his life is stopping him from making a fool of his self if he really does have all those issues. kinda makes me think he was a lonley boom-boom before the stroke

Interesting. I guess if this is true, it's a lesson in not judging idiots on the internet.
I'm with Dan0, though. Kind of sad that he's not getting any help.
 
I can't believe I watched all of the TOM video. It was maybe 1 minute of actual information repeated ad nauseum into 17 mins.
 
I was once an EMT. When I took the class one of the teachers told us of going on a gunshot call once. He gets there and there's this older gentleman, he's nice and friendly, polite as can be, sitting up talking to him. Paramedic is getting confused when guys son walks in and says -, he's not like this - he's a mean SOB. Dude tried to commit suicide, bullet traveled around the front of his skull = frontal lobotomy. He died from infection, rather than the injury itself.

Traumatic Brain Injuries behave in all sorts of weird and bizarre ways, can truly change who you are.

I also know people who I could call  - and I use this term very carefully and specifically - emotionally retarded. Mentally, physically and socially they're completely normal. But deep down they have some pretty ugly scars, and it's like they have no more control  over or sometimes even awareness of  their emotions than a young child.  They can be ..challenging to deal with.

He'd just tell you it would be "pretty wacky sounding," and then you would point out that he argued it would make no difference, and then he would call you a DMF for questioning him, even though you caught him in a contradiction. :dontknow:

Seriously, did he just say that a Rosewood neck would be pretty wacky sounding, and then go on to say how it wouldn't matter?
