Hi, I'm a noob

Yah, Jet-Jaguar, I've got an interesting collection of parts, from a knack for snagging "non-functioning" guitars for pocket change. And it's amazing how eBay buyers won't touch a $40 guitar with a twisted neck, yet will line up to pay $40 for that twisted neck. :dontknow: As a result, there's 5-6 slab bodies stacked under the bench, awaiting revised pickplate assemblies, as well as a pair of rather nice "modded" Squiers needing correct-spaced bridges, & the Corts that somehow grew neck-spaced HBs at their bridge positions...

Funny thing is, I'm still in awe of most of youse guys. Nope -- no way I consider myself a "builder." I'm "a repair guy who does some mods." Just an old punk in a world of shredders. :guitarplayer2:

Thanks, Wyliee!! Every grain of data makes me feel better -- though, don't get me wrong, I'm fascinated with how well this thing plays, even though my eyes tell me it should be downright ungainly.

After a bit of digging on eBay, I found the 4-string version of that J-body. (I can't recall, but you might need an eBay account to access these -- sorry, I haven't yet been able to clone the photos & post 'em):

Oh, the shape's common enough, but THIS one has that odd four-hole control cavity.

{PLEASE, if anyone can tell me what the stacked knobs are SUPPOSED to do tone-wise, I'd appreciate it!! I cannot even guess at the manufacture of the circuit board. The pots are very scratchy, & haven't completely responded to D5. One ring sounds like it MIGHT be a parametric-style midrange boost/cut, but I remain uncertain.}

And I even found a fretless cousin for the neck:

Both have the no-words turtle, & at least I've found what the blurry words are supposed to say:
Warranty Void If Used
Without Hard Finish - Oils
Are NOT Satisfactory
