How 'bout we have a new rule on this board?  Let's call it the "don't be a negative jerkwad" rule?

Oh wait!  We already have that rule.

"* Negativity:  Members that habitually post negative comments and perpetuate a black cloud atmosphere will have their comments deleted and may be banned from posting without warning. As mentioned, there are many, many forums that can be used as a personal aggressive venting tool but this is not one of them."

Mkay?  K.

Oh you're just being hormonal and ultra-PC.

That'll be $5, SuperLizard. :laughing7:

You just can't handle alternative opinions!
Oh, and by the way, yer mama is fugly! Let's discuss!!

Actually, i think it would be a brilliant idea if forums required you to pay fines for doing stupid things.
For most people, that should be enough to get them to chill out, but for "those people" that just can't, at least the forum/company/whoever can rake in a few extra bucks.

I think it would be great if you could block certain members from commenting on the threads that you start.  People will get the idea after a while when no one is allowing them to post.

Funny you and a few others have to somehow involve me here.

Be a smartass about it all you want, but the truth is I'm not responsible for the latest bunch of wigging-out.

I've been on the sidelines - busy - not to mention watching the usual suspects getting all butt-hurt over nothing, and oddly enough politics isn't even part of it this time.

Overly sensitive people are not a positive thing... unless the board runs itself exactly how they like it, they tear apart groups or become headache-inducers with their whining.

That would certainly help with keeping some of the threads in civilized order, but its also just as easy for er.. "certain people" to start their own threads and just bash about something random, that people will always end up getting involved in debates and flame wars over.

I am not getting involved with this, but in all seriousness, SuperLizard, why drag this into another thread?
If you want to argue with someone over things related to that Tele thread , do it in the Tele thread and not here. Or better yet hash it out via private messages.

Why didn't you ask those other two why they had to bring my name up here, and why they couldn't "hash it out via private messages"?  :tard:

Oh no, you're not getting involved at all.. your hands are "clean".  You gosh-darn, silly kids.  :binkybaby:

By the way, in no way was I being "ultra PC" in my objection to that guy's comments.  I simply said that I personally didn't like him for several reasons including but not limited to his obvious aversion to gay people (though, I thought he was a douche long before he made that comment), then T.L. barges in with his bold bs, saying that "homophobia isn't real".

I then pointed out that homophobia DOES exist, because oh I don't know... LOTS OF PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MURDERED OVER IT.  I would have called him out if he had denied the holocaust too.

I don't see any way that could be seen as "ultra PC".

I have noticed that that ridiculous thread continues to grow, and that is extremely disappointing.  It's obvious the guy is a sad little man who likes to stir sh*t up when he is bored.

I'm sorry SuperLizard. I thought I was saving you some time. Time is money after all. :laughing7:

I typed up a reply to this, but i decided to hold true to my values and PM it to him instead so that i don't waste everyone elses time.

I'm curious - where is the correlation between saying "homo" and "murdering a homosexual" a la Sheppard?  Is "homo" a nice word?  No.  However, in the context the poster used, it was more saying the dude "sucked" than anything else.  Taking that and turning it into murdering gays is quite a stretch, don't you think?

I didn't say that the guy who said it was going to kill someone, I just had an objection to TL saying that homophobia is "made up".  What is hard to understand about this?

And yeah, if saying someone is gay is the same thing to you as saying someone sucks, it means to me that you don't like gay people.  Ya know, logic.

Welcome to the world of the hetero male... actually, logic dictates that "you" don't like the homosexual lifestyle; which is true for undoubtedly the majority of hetero males.  And perhaps not quite oddly enough, gays have their own term for us heteros - they like to call us "breeders".  Heterophobia perhaps? LOL  So what.  In the grand scheme of things, people are people and it ain't no thang.

I'm not going to bother reading that considering you cannot judge everyone by the same stick... aside from the fact that it's very low on my priority list.

My fiance is a devout Christian.  He doesn't agree with the lifestyle at all.  But we have many gay friends, and he is totally fine with them.  He doesn't use gay as an insult either.  There is a difference between not agreeing with the lifestyle and not liking people because that's what they're into.  It's this wacky idea he has, I think it's called "live and let live" or "love thy neighbor" or something like that... I'm not sure where he got it... oh yeah, from the Bible.

Sexuality is such a small part of a person anyways.  I think it's sad when people think that what someone does behind closed doors encompasses their entire being, especially because what you do in private has nothing to do with anyone else except the person you are in a relationship with.  If it has no affect on your life, why discriminate against people for it whether you agree with it or not?

Anyways, I don't give a flying crap if you hate gay people or not.  I'm just saying I don't have to like you.

I am declaring an end to the gay conversation here.  If anyone else brings it up, I'm locking the thread.

I see - you're allowed to not like some people, but we have to like gays because you like them.

For the record, I don't normally have issues with gays - I get along with them just fine.  But when they call us heteros "breeders", it doesn't phase me, either.

Whatever.
