Help! I am trying to find the exact finish that Hershel from Chris Isaak's band used in a live practice video of "Wicked Game"... Ive been looking for over a week and even messaged him with no response... Here is my wormhole so far.... From what I know it is a cellulose laminate on a 1 time build from Skyway tremelo co. With parts possible from Warmoth.. I have found many different laminate sheets on line but nice and big "Swirl/Paisley" as this one has... First time posting on here. Any leads would be appreciated!Screenshot_20251009-151921_Google.jpg

I dont think it is a dip. From a side shot you can see a distinct line on the face of it where it goes from the pearl finish to a white or Olympic white solid color on the back and sides.

But a dip might be the easiest, most cost effective way to get close to the look without spending thousands on a custom.

It looks to me like a plastic laminate that was glued on, just like a wood veneer. As an aside I saw Chris Issack with Hershall and it was a great show outdoors! Dig Chris Issack's music! Plus, he is very nearly as handsome as myself!

On a flat top that wouldn’t be too hard, I assume some careful application of a heat gun was used to get it to follow the arm contour?

Warmoth did some bodies like that back in the day, but it was way before my time and I don't have any helpful info. @Knorris

Why yes we did. We called it Acrylic Swirl. I would epoxy the top to the body and would use a grayish pigment to mix with the epoxy so it would not be transparent. I believe some of our old flyers/catalogs offered it. And @Hodgo is correct. A heat gun was used to make the bend over the forearm contour.

Incredible! It appears that I came to the right place for sure! I wish I could just find the exact laminate sheets somewhere. Evidently the gray pigment is the majic key that makes what it is.
