The unique aluminum body was built by one of original builders of the Fender Harley Davidson Strat bodies that where sold in 1993...

...The original idea was to make two of this style, one with frets and one without...only one was made.

The original Strat and Tele bodies were made by a company called Spruce Hill Music in or around Minneapolis in 1993. Both they and another Minnesota company called Kellett have been advertising guitars either made from remaining stock of the Fender run, or newly-fabricated. Spruce Hill at least will fabricate a new one to order, but they are agonizingly slow, according to the Harmony Central reviews - up to two years, and don't try to get your money back.

As this is an auction for an existing body, it's probably really there. It sound to me like there must've been two partners who had a falling out or something? They can't both own the "remaining stock"...? I love my aluminum Tele, but based on it, I don't think this construction would generate enough bass response to get a traditional sound, which sort of matters if you're going to try to get paid to play bass. Sure is cute though! :toothy12:
