Helping out a friend with a bass build

I have the honor to help out a friend who wants a bass with J-bass body with P-bass neck , and it seemed like our domestic parts dealer in Sweden (who has Hosco parts mainly) has different heel sizes for J and P, so the J body wont fit the P neck properly. So I suggested Warmoth instead, of course!!

And it SEEMS like Warmoth has the same heel size for all bass necks, is that true? So I can order a J-bass body and P-bass neck without having to shave the neck pocket or anything risky like that?

Yes, the Jazz & Precision basses share the same pocket.

Now I just noticed I misunderstood him, he was talking about P-bas neck pickup and NOT neck... Haha!!!

The only difference between Warmoth's P and J necks is the nut width.

All of the 4 string bass necks & bodies have the same heel size/neck pocket (Exception: 30" Short scale has a different heel/pocket)
