Is there a proper way to force vintage ferules into the headstock for the tuners and string ferules into the back of a fixed bridge?  Also the wiring diagram does not show the ground wires to the foil in the cavity nor the fixed bridge.  Dont I need those?  And lastly does anyone ever glue the nect to the body.  I am surprised 4 little screws will do it.

thanks

This is how I go about pressing in ferrules.

Shield foil is often grounded by overlapping the hole a bit to contact metal parts that are grounded otherwise. For instance, vibrato bridges often have the ground connected to the claw, while hardtail bridges get their connection via bare ground wires in the mounting bushing holes via holes drilled for the purpose. Not many install shield foil anyway, as it serves little purpose. What you really want to do is use shielded cable to wire things up. It's much more effective.

Nobody glues bolt-on necks to the body. There isn't enough surface to get a good grip and there's no mechanical help from dovetails or mortise/tenon cuts. The four screws are more than enough and make a tighter joint anyway. If you want to go the extra yard, you can install threaded inserts in the neck. That makes for a very tight joint.
