What kind of guitar and pickups are these? It has 3 pickups that resemble a P-Bass. You can see a good closeup of it at 4:00 but I can't see anything on the headstock.
They're nice guitars. One of my brothers has one of the originals in his G&L collection from back when Leo first started making them. They're what was considered Leo's vision of what a Strat should be. All the things FMIC and/or CBS wouldn't let him do got rolled into the thing.
Thanks. I'd want that style in a pre-wired pickguard, just for looks really. I doubt it makes a significant difference soundwise compared to a slanted single coil.

Yeah, it sorta does. Those are hum-cancelling pickups, but in a different configuration than most. They sound closer to single coils than most solutions of the time did, but not as close as the modern parts you can get now do. In other words, unique. But, not in a bad way. Just different.
As for getting one pre-wired, it would be a pretty custom (read: expensive) part. The aftermarket for G&L parts never really took off because they didn't get the market share you might expect. Demand was too low for anyone to pursue it. As close as they look to a Strat, nearly every dimension is off, so none of the massive aftermarket for Strat parts applies.
Wanna see something weird, Google image a MM Stingray GUITAR. Another one that's hard to get parts for. I used to play with a guy that had one as his main guitar.
