has anyone built a Bass 6?

I'm sorta curious about these things...one may be in my future, and I'm curious if anyone else has built one..... :toothy10:

Personally, I'm fine with the tremolo. I've got a killer solid body bass already. Anyone have any estimations on the weight of the thing if the body is around 5.5lbs?

Mine is awesome.  3 P-90s are perfect for the Bass VI.  It's heavy, but it's worth it.  I dominate the range from typical bass into baritone, but without sounding like annoying modern bass wankers.  Upper register chords and arpeggios combined with a trem... it's pure sex.  It *can* be used as a standard bass, but I find a Morphine-esque use for it.  I also find myself going after Sonic Youth type grooves with it.  I play it through tubes, for sure. 

I'm surprised that annoying trendy kids who think they just discovered fire all on their own aren't swarming for these.  I've found mine to be a great creative tool.

I was actually thinking of building one next.  I have two options:  Build a tele using my gross Squier as a base to build off.... or do a Bass 6. I'm thinking Bass 6, because they're just so damn cool. What strings do you use? As in, gauge, brand, etc.

do you have a link for your build? do you know the weight of it, too? also, I'm thinking a humbucker is going in the neck, and possibly an Area 67 in the middle, and a tele pickup in the bridge. what is the manufacturer of the pickups you used in yours?

also, anyone have any experience with P-Rails? I'm thinking about putting one of these in the neck position with a coil switch, since I want something bassy there to do my usual stereo output thing.
