Chipping away at this. Guitar plays beautifully and sounds great unplugged. The chambered korina/korina body is very resonant and has great sustain. I can't say enough about the quartersawn flamed goncalo alves neck (Pau Ferro fretboard). And Cagey burnished and dressed the neck for me--he took a beautiful neck and made it perfect and stunning. He does amazing work.

I put the pickups in today and installed got some hardware (strap buttons; jack). Still have the wiring to do. I want to drill a couple holes in the body for a couple of DPDT switches for coil split and phase. Will update later with further progress. Countersink bit is my new best friend. Pics below.

Thank you for the kind words.

If you haven't bought the wire yet, you should seriously consider using this stuff...

Buy several lengths of it so you don't have to worry, or spring for a short reel like this...

If you intend to do coil splitting or phase reversal or any of those kinds of things, they also sell 4-conductor shielded that'll let you do that.

In any case, they all work one helluva lot better than shielding cavities with copper or aluminum foil, which is largely a waste of time and material.
