Just finished these! Thought I'd post them... Paul.

Guitars contain:

- Strat style (Warmoth) bodies have front and rear rout. Warmoth bodies are Alder.
- Standard solid gloss black with gloss Pickguard (Warmoth).
- Trans Brown with Tortoise Pickguard (Warmoth).
- Warmoth Pickgaurds (Strat Style) with H-H rout, 5 Way Switch control rout (Volume and Tone placement custom drilled by owner).
- Guitar knobs are rare NOS (New Old Stock) 1965 Fender Jazzmaster white and coffee stained/soaked vintage cream.
- Pickups: 2 x Active EMG-89r (Reverse) powered by a single 9Volt battery.  Both EMG 89r PU are splitable. Single Coil Split at neck position + Single Coil Split at SECOND coil/PU from bridge. Three way switch 1st Pos (Bridge PU or Single Coil Split) 2nd Pos Center (Bridge + Neck or Single Coil options) 3rd Pos Neck PU or Single Coil Split @ Neck).
- Fully shielded by copper in back cavity and at rear of scratch plate.
- Front body PU Rout H-S-H.
- Back cavity uses metal screws with a metal threaded cylinder two-pack glued for easy access to the battery and non-stripping of wood.
- Battery enclosed in foam and foam joined with material/gaffer tape.  This guarantees no rattle noise from battery as it is housed in foam. Battery is easily pushed into the foam surround and sits snug in rear rout.
- Schaller (Floyd Rose) Trem Chrome, with three springs, purchased via Warmoth!
- Rear Trem spring cavity-guard clear to visually inspect springs and Trem set-up.
- Mag-Lok for centering the Trem.
- Memory foam in Trem rout below Schaller FR Trem to minimize impact of extreme Trem pull-up.
- Necks: 24 3/4" Scale Conversion Warmoth Pro Construction.  Birdseye Maple with Vintage Tint Satin finish, Ebony Fret Boards, 10"- 16" compound radius fretboard. Stainless Steel fret wire SS6105 .095" X .047. Machine heads are Schaller M6 Mini Tuners.

I like the black one a lot. Really dramatic all that black and the amber tint neck, simple controls, sharp looking.

The other one not so much.

Why two of the same thing?
May-be he has a twin brother  :dontknow:

BTW ... That black ones a beauty  :headbang:

Interesting front and rear cavity, I see why ....
But did Warmoth do that for you ?

Haven't seen that before  :icon_scratch:

Are the knobs chosen for the cosmetics, or do you find the skirt helps when adjusting them, particularly on the fly while playing?

Digging the guitars, especially the black one.... black knobs, maybe?  :dontknow:

Oh, and cute idea putting the battery in the tremolo compartment.  Veeery clever.  :laughing7:

Yep, not a battery but a Mag-Lok for Trem, actually just replaced the Tremsetter in preference.... Tremsetters were good but the Mag-Lok's are awesome, much, much better!

Yep, Warmoth did the routing work! Actually, I tried dozens of pics to try and capture the Trans Brown but couldn't quite capture the real look.  The black is very close to original, the Trans Brown; the pics don't do it justice at all.  The knobs are much darker and are vintage cream; they were white but sat in coffee for a few days. The PU's are Ivory but they look white-ish, might try a full exposure in filtered sun? Anyway, I like both but agreed... black is black, is black as black is...

Knobs were chosen for few reasons, cosmetics, age and most importantly is that I find them easy to use both the back of my pinky and the for rolling the finger around the heavily crimped surface above the skirt. The skirt acts as a reference point and they roll faster than speed knobs.  Also, both the Volume/Tone are Push/Pull for splitting the PU's so the height is just a bit better for that than the standard Fender Strat knobs out there.  These are actually NOS 1965 Knobs, I think Fender made them for a year or a little longer.  I have a friend who found these at Fender and bought the entire New Old Stock.  He let these ones plus some spares go at a good price so I went for it.  At the end of the day they don't come up all that often so they're kinda cool, well I like them.

The cheapest instant crap tasting coffee I could find, with major stain capacity. After soaking them in coffee,  the jar of coffee has just sat there.  Hmmmm...  must be foul-brand :dontknow:  The knobs still smell like coffee after four months...   Even if the look of the Trans Brown isn't everyones taste,  one smell of the Volume/Tone Knobs and they're hooked!  :icon_thumright:  :icon_biggrin:

I like them both, great taste in my oppinion.  :headbang: And very smart with the backup.

really liking those guitars.  excellent execution and they look great!.
