I never thought Shirley Jones looked hot, per se. She kinda looked like yesterdays' news next to Susan Dey, who looked/behaved like the penultimate slut next to her. Of course, this was back before they invented permanent and/or life-threatening STDs, so it was easier to fall in lust love.

The original film version sounded much closer to Stairway and was changed for video releases to avoid litigation.
 
There's an awful young Johnny Depp movie -- Crybaby -- where he does a bunch of obviously fake guitaring. Which makes no sense, given that Mr. Depp actually knows how to play guitar. Why do they do these things to me?
 
Ralph Macchio does an admirable job of faking his part (along with some clever editing) in Crossroads.
