Now that wer'e defining the rules maybe I'll gt to recording something new.

Hey Steve, looking forward to hearing what you put together. How's it coming?

Nothing yet other than getting familiar again with what I did in that first clip I posted. I was thinking of maybe just re recording that solo as a clean guitar
by itself, really exposed ... direct to mic pre ... no FX, no amplifier, no rockman, nothing but then guitar sound raw, to see how it works.

I've just been too busy with normal work.
I haven't even had time to work on finishing my new korina body.

Well get r done!!! We need more clips!!!  :icon_jokercolor:

This is a clip I recorded with my youngest son who is playing the drums.  I did not know the song but they asked me to come in and just “go off” and do a lead solo.  So I showed up, listened to the song once and had at it.  They pointed at me when to start and when to stop, which explains the somewhat abrupt ending to the solo.  This was the first take raw and un-mixed.

The guitar was my 1993 Gibson Les Paul Classic Premium Plus with Duncan 59’s direct into an Uncle Spot 59 Tweed Deluxe copy turned up to 10.  The amp had SM57’s placed in the front of the speaker and at the back of the cabinet and I just went off.  It’s pretty raw but was fun to do some stuff with my kid and his friends.

I did forget to mention that my editor and manager is Max.  I sent him the whole song file and he isolated the solo section for me to be able to post only what was needed.  So a big round of applause to our young genius Max for taking care of the old geezer.  :hello2: :hello2:

If only there was some skill you could offer in return...

Cool... very Neil!

Speaking of Neil...

... Forgot to add, the 12 string is my Rick 360/12.  The solo is of course Kashmir.

and the voice is the woman on the left:

Here is one for my monday-mood...!

A total of 15 or so hours on a train almost drove me mad this weekend, but it was worth it to see porcupine tree live for the second time! Perfect show, just perfect. Inspiring... :occasion14:

Title; I don't like mondays either!

Gear used;

- Monday
- Morning
- Eyesight (blurry)
- Hands (shaking)
- Brain (emergency power)
- 3 cups of coffee, 150% strength (did not help the shaking of the hands, but improved vision significantly)
- Snus (kind of chewing tobacco, except you don't chew it:P crazy scandinavians....) - did also not help the shaking of the hands, but improved mood significantly!
- Some guitar-stuff I could never fit into a song
- Warmoth VIP > POD X3 Live > Presonus Firepod > Reaper

Hope you like it! Welcome to my wierd monday-world.

Thanks for the reminder...

This is part of an instrumental I put together this past summer...

Warmoth maple 24 (SS 6115) fret neck, Wizard back
Warmoth alder body
Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro in the neck position
Boss pedals (Metal Zone and Super Chorus)
Carvin SX-300 amp (mic'ed)
Apple Logic Express...

The server wouldn't allow me to embed the audio (even though it's only 1 MB), so I just linked it below...

Cool clip, I hear a lot of Tony MacAlpine in your lead lick , especially closer to the end.  :icon_thumright:

What the hell... Can't attach it, here's a link: http://jackthehack.com/BluesInDee.mp3

30 bonus points if you can identify the origin of the backing track....
