Guess I know what the next guitar project is....

Congrats Jack! I remember a while ago you were jealous of the 65 MM that I had - hope yours stays in tune for you. Send us a pic.
Aren't the pignose bridges for sale at stewmac supposed to be just the thing?

Those won't fit, have oddball stud spacing. I was going to order a black Gotoh 510, but the studs are SMALLER than the original ones still in the body. My guy was pretty sure he can get a black Leo Quan or something similar with posts that have the same screw threading as what's there. I'd prefer not to have the studs pulled if possible.

Digging through my spare parts looking for something else I found a black wraparound bridge I'd bought for another project that never came to fruition, it's an exact fit, so that's the ticket. The RG Tele DIrty Harry PU is a lot taller than the original pickup, and there is a width differentiation, so looks like some routing and a custom pickguard are in the axe's immediate future....

Due to the existing holes and the way the bridge HB route was done, I can't do anything real different with the pickguard, other than resize the neck PU hole to properly fit the SC pickup I'm using; general shape/config will need to remain the same.

Finally got this bad boy back from the shop; can't extol Josh @ Mass St. Music enough; got the custom pickguard pictured fabricated, pickup routes redone for RG Dirty Harry/TX humbucker set, original frets leveled/crowned/dressed (they had never been touched since 1964 and were in bad shape through the first 4 frets, neck adjusted and final set up for under $250!

Now to wire this sucker up and get down, it'll wind up under 5 lbs with electronics and should sustain until next week!

You didn't get that from Katrina-land, did you?  Looks like moss growing in the route.

The rest looks great!   :icon_thumright:
