I need some grain filler and I have a few questions. How many bodies will a one pint can do? I would like to get some that I can stain, can I use water based stain for that? I have a few cans of minwax water based stain, can I use that?
1 - one can will do LOTS of bodies.
2 - you can get some clear fillers - be careful as some "clear" is actually a light amber like maple. But, you can probably stain latex/water based fillers with water based stain. You might want to decant the stain (or try to) or at least evaporate it somewhat before adding it to the filler.
