Gotoh 510 trem + 720 mod

Curious is a body could be ordered with the angled heel route as found when ordering the non recessed Floyd Rose (hope I'm explaining that right) when paired with the 510?

So again I ask, why do I have a gap between the fretboard overhang and the pickguard on my latest Warmoth Strat project?  I could fit two pickguards stacked on top of each other.
The .720 mod is about 1/10 of an inch, so in this case, it would have cleared the pickguard with to  to spare. The yellow one in my picture on the left doesn't have that much of a gap.

Street Avenger can you post a picture of the gap and also a picture from the back of the fit of the neck to the guitar?

Standard spec leaves 0.125" between the face of the body and the underside of the 'board overhang, so you should be able to fit 2x 0.06" single-ply between, but not 2x 0.9" 3-ply.

Is it a Warmoth neck?

Do you have any calipers to measure the neck pocket depth and neck thickness? An accurate ruler would probably be ok.

this discuss happened at a perfect time. I especially want to thank Aaron for talking about fret board over hang. I received my Warmoth Strat Gibson scale quarter sawn Mahogany neck with dark Indian Rosewood fret board. After a couple of days of just admiring it and how much lighter it felt than my roasted maple/Ebony 25.5 " scale neck I started to bolt it to a Fender American Standard body which I had a Warmoth one piece Maple Vintage/Modern neck That Maple neck didn't have much of a fret board overhang but I didn't focus on that. When I bolted on the Mahogany /Rosewood I noticed that the over hang of the fret board reached all the way to the neck pickup. As I turned the neck screws all the way down this .720 conversation came to mind and I checked the gap from the body to the fretboard and I noticed that on one side it looked too tight. so I unscrewed the pickguard to see if I could slide it out easily. I couldn't so I unscrewed the neck took off the pick guard and screwed the neck back on. Then I tried to slide a piece of Pickguard under the over hand fret board and found that for whatever reason I couldn't slide the pick guard under the fret board on one side. So rather than sand the bottom of the fret board over hang or damage the finish on the body I just cut the pick guard away all the way to the pickup. That solved the problem. But if we hadn't had this conversation I likely wouldn't have even noticed. Since the old neck didn't have a problem I wouldn't have even checked to see if there was clearance and eventually the fret board may have lifted off the shaft. I now have learned when you are doing these mods you have to keep your mind focused on what unintended changes are happening.
